


The continued lack of a system to limit use of ultimates and Blast 2-type specials made combat with noobs incredibly frustrating as they'd just spam Wild Sense and charge for and spam Ultimates or Rushdown specials. Putting "Sparking Burst" or whatever it was on the same button as Vanishing was beyond stupid and lead to a lot of accidental activations when trying to Vanish or guard an incoming attack while charging for an Ultimate. If you weren't starting every ground combo by jumping, you were doing it wrong and likely to eat a combo from your opponent who is. Jump attacks were kinda broken and took priority over most other combo starters. The combat system, while streamlined a bit, still much slower than and wasn't as deep or complex as BT3's and it made competitive matches against friends much less exciting. Plain and simple, the character models look like clay figures and it's off putting at least, frustrating coming off the near anime-perfect visuals of RB1 at worst. I mostly don't rate it very high for the following reasons:
